Plan the crossing and admission separately

Sedir Island in the Gulf of Gökova combines archaeology and a protected beach. Official museum information describes access by boats from Çamlı on the Marmaris side and day excursion boats from Akyaka. The final approach is by sea.

Check current archaeological site hours and ticket arrangements through Türkiye Museums. A boat ticket does not automatically include admission or every service on the island. Confirm the return time and actual boarding pier.

Give Kedrai’s remains walking time

The theatre, sanctuary of Apollo, walls and Byzantine-period structures reveal different stages of the settlement. Choose an unhurried walk on the open visitor route rather than treating the island solely as a swimming stop.

Wear shoes with good grip, carry water and follow barriers. The amount of walking you want should influence the boat programme you choose.

Respect the protected sand

Cleopatra Beach’s special calcareous grains result from geological processes and are protected. Taking sand off the beach is prohibited; follow staff instructions for beach use. Popular Cleopatra stories should not be presented as proven historical events.

The Çamlık guide covers the departure stage, while the tour comparison guide helps assess inclusions. After returning to land, a short rest can be more practical than adding an ambitious Gökova programme.
